Camp Achieve 2010
This year, 4Epilepsy sent 7 kids to Camp Achieve in Green Lane PA. It was another great week of fun, sharing, learning and growing. Our hats off to the wonderful staff and volunteers that make this a great experience every year!
This year, we asked our campers to tell us what a week of camp means to them. Below are some passages from their responses:
From Angelica...
"It is important to me to meet kids who have epilepsy because I think it will make me less afraid to tell people about my condition. Plus I want to have friends with epilepsy because they have had similar experiences to me. They understand how it feels to be epileptic and it would be nice to talk to them about it."
From Jaime...
"I still remember the week last year that I spent at Camp Achieve. At first I was scared because I didn't know anyone, but the first five minutes my counselor introduced me to my new best friend."
From Abby...
"Camp lets me get away from my mom and dad. I do not get to meet new friends at home but I do in camp."
From Danny...
"I like how the camp counselors are so nice and know what to do when a kid has a seizure."
